Pair a Bluetooth controller or gamepad to your Samsung TV

A game controller paired to a Samsung TV with Bluetooth

Cut out the middle man by pairing your controller directly to a Samsung TV or Odyssey Ark. Many apps and games can run directly on Samsung TVs, and many of those support using a controller. The connected controller can help navigate menus, and may even be more convenient than using the remote.

  1. Put the controller into Bluetooth pairing mode. The steps for a few of the most popular controllers are included here. Check the user manual for your controller if you aren't sure how to put it into pairing mode.

Note: Some controllers don't need to be put in pairing mode as long as they're turned on and are near the TV.

  2. Navigate to the Bluetooth device list on your TV and select the controller or gamepad to pair with. The process is slightly different depending on what TV model you have.

    • 2023 Smart TVs: Menu > Settings > All Settings > Connection > External Device Manager > Input Device Manager > Bluetooth Device List

    • 2022 Smart TVs (B models): All Settings > Connection > External Device Manager > Input Device Manager > Bluetooth Device List

    • 2021 - 2019 Smart TVs (A, T, and R models): Settings > General > External Device Manager > Input Device Manager > Bluetooth Device List

    • 2018 - 2016 Smart TVs (N, M, and K models) - Keyboard: Settings > System > Input Device Manager > Add Bluetooth Keyboard & Gamepad

    • 2015 Smart TVs (J models) - Keyboard: MENU > System > Device Manager > Bluetooth Gamepad Settings

  3. When the controller is in pairing mode, it will show up on the list of available devices. Select the controller with your TV remote to finish the pairing process.
