What is the Samsung Mobile Upgrade Program?
The Samsung Upgrade Program allows customers to buy a new eligible Samsung smartphone device using Samsung Financing. After 12 months, you'll have the option to upgrade to the latest smartphone with a maximum credit up to 50% of the initial purchase price. You must return your old smartphone device in good condition.
Can I upgrade any Samsung Mobile Device?
No. You must purchase an eligible Samsung smartphone device and opt-in to the Samsung Upgrade Program at checkout using an approved Samsung Financing Account.
Can I use my existing Samsung Financing Account to participate?
Yes, If you were approved for a Financing Account prior to opting in to the Upgrade Program, you may use it to participate, subject to your available credit limit.
What phones can I upgrade to?
Samsung phones which are eligible to upgrade to under the Samsung Upgrade Program will be available from time to time on Samsung.com/us or the Shop Samsung App.
When can I upgrade?
To upgrade, you must meet the following requirements at the time of upgrade:
• At least twelve (12) months must have passed since the date on which Samsung shipped your Initial Device to you. Samsung will determine this by counting three hundred sixty-five (365) days from the date of shipment.
• Your Financing Account must be open and in good standing. To be in good standing, your Financing Account must be open, available for use, current, and have sufficient available credit to make the upgrade purchase.
How do I upgrade to a new device?
Log into your Samsung Account to check your device eligibility and select the eligible device you want to upgrade. Check to make sure your upgrade eligible phone is in good condition (see conditions below), follow the steps to purchase a new device with your Samsung Financing Account. Send your old upgrade eligible device back to Samsung in good condition to receive a credit applied to your Samsung Financing Account, up to a maximum of fifty percent (50%) of the Financed Amount.
How is the Upgrade Credit amount determined?
If your Initial Device is determined to be in good condition and to meet Samsung’s additional requirements for upgrade, then the amount of Upgrade Credit will equal the balance of the applicable Financed Amount that remains outstanding on your Financing Account, up to a maximum of fifty percent (50%) of the Financed Amount (“Maximum Credit”). The unpaid balance and amount of the Maximum Credit will be determined as of the date you are eligible for upgrade and submit a request to upgrade. The Maximum Credit will be disclosed to you as part of the upgrade process.
You may receive a Limited Credit, if your Initial Device is not in good condition or does not meet Samsung’s additional requirements for upgrade, then the amount of the Upgrade Credit will equal the balance of the applicable Financed Amount that remains outstanding on your Financing Account up to a maximum of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) (“Limited Credit”). Your Initial Device will not be returned to you. This Upgrade Credit will be applied after the shipment of the Upgrade Device.
What requirements does my device have to meet in order for me to receive the maximum upgrade credit?
Your Samsung upgrade eligible Initial Device is in good condition for upgrade if it meets the following eligibility requirements:
a. It powers on, holds a charge and does not power off unexpectedly;
b. It has a functioning display,
c. It has no breaks or cracks or other visible defects that go beyond normal wear and tear, including but not limited to: multiple scratches, dents, or dings; evidence of water damage; or corroded charging port, SIM, or battery terminal contacts.
d. Your Initial Device must also satisfy the following additional requirements:
e. It must not be on a “black list” of any kind.
f. Reactivation Lock, Google Factory Reset Protection, or any other anti-theft locking software must be disabled; and,
g. You must perform a factory reset and remove all personal information from your Initial Device before returning it to Samsung
Can I return my initial or new Samsung phone if I decide to return?
We’re sure you’ll love your new Samsung phone but, just in case, our normal return policy applies. If you return an eligible initial or new Samsung phone in accordance with Samsung’s then applicable returns and refunds policy, Samsung will issue a credit for the applicable amount, if any, to your Financing Account. Please note that you will not be eligible to receive the Upgrade Credit if the new Upgrade Device is returned.
What happens if I do not return my upgrade eligible device?
If you decide after you make your purchase that you don’t want to return your upgrade eligible old device, you don’t need to do anything. If you do not return your upgrade eligible device, you will not receive an Upgrade Credit and must continue to make payments as required by your Samsung Financing Terms.
What if Samsung determines that my device does not meet the minimum conditions or that my device is not an eligible device model for this promotion?
If it is determined that your returned device does not meet the conditions described above then Samsung will value it at twenty five dollars ($25.00) and apply the Limited Credit to your Samsung Financing Account. Please note that your old device cannot be returned to you.
When I return my old device, should I send the charger, case or other accessories with the device?
No – you should only ship the device back to Samsung. If you no longer need them, discard the other accessories in accordance with your local trash and recycling regulations. No credit is offered on anything other than the device, and if you do ship accessories back with the device, those accessories will not be returned.
Can I ship more than one device with the shipping label that was sent to me?
No – you should only ship one device per upgrade label for each upgrade order. If you have placed more than one upgrade order, please log into your Samsung account and print the associated label from your My Orders page
How do I remove all of the personal information on my upgrade eligible device before I send it in?
Refer to the user manual or support page on Samsung’s website ((https://117.p.syniva.es/us/support/answer/ANS00062029/) for how to do a factory reset on your current device, prior to shipping it back to Samsung. In addition, make sure that you remove all passwords, locks, SIM cards and memory cards before sending the device to Samsung. If these items are sent with your device, they will not be returned. Please note that Samsung assumes no responsibility for any personal information you leave on your device when you ship it back to Samsung as a upgrade return
What happens after I return my old upgrade eligible device back to Samsung?
You will receive an email from Samsung when your device has evaluated; as long as the device meets the criteria described above, you don’t need to do anything else.
What if I lost or threw out the shipping label that was sent to me?
If you have lost or discarded the shipping label, please log into your Samsung.com account and reprint the label from your My Orders page.
What if I decide that I want my old device back after I send it to Samsung?
When you ship your old upgrade eligible device to us, you are transferring ownership of it to Samsung and it cannot be returned to you for any reason.
Does the Samsung Upgrade program work with other promotions ?
The Upgrade Program cannot be combined with any other promotions, discounts, or offers (“Offers”), unless specifically provided for in the applicable Offer’s terms and conditions
How do I know when my first payment is due?
A billing statement will be sent or made available to you after your first purchase using the Samsung Financing Program Account. The billing statement will include your payment due date. Your payment due date will be at least 21 days after the statement is sent or made available. You will also receive account information details by mail from TD Bank within 7-10 days of being approved for an account.
How do I make a payment to my Samsung Financing Program Account?
You can make payments to your Samsung Financing Program Account issued by TD Bank in 3 convenient ways 1) online via myonlineaccount.net ; 2) by phone via automated touch-tone bill payment by calling 1 (888) 382-6665; 3) by mail sent to the address designated on your monthly billing statement. How do I know how much to pay each month?
The minimum payment due is located in the Payment Information section of your billing statement. If you have made multiple purchases and you would like to understand the minimum payment for each promotional plan, that information can be found in the Summary of Promotional and Standard Balances section of your statement. Each of these minimum payment amounts are added together to equal the required minimum payment due on the account. If you have any balances on your account as a result of a late fee or other charge, or a past due amount, those amounts will also be included in the total minimum amount due for that month. You are required to pay at least the minimum payment due each month on your account. See also your Cardholder Agreement for more information about how the monthly payment is calculated. Your payment due date will be the same date each month. If you are mailing in your payments please allow at least 7 days to ensure your payment is received in time.
What is a 0% APR with Equal Monthly Payments financing offer?
For this financing offer, the interest rate is 0% APR on qualifying purchases until paid in full. The minimum monthly payment is based upon the 0% APR, the number of months in the offer and the purchase amount. If all payments are made on time, the payments will pay off the promotional balance by the end of the promotional period. The total amount of such payments will not exceed the eligible purchase amount. If you do not make at least the required minimum payment by the due date, you will be assessed a late fee.
