Factory reset or reboot your SmartThings Hub

Reset button on the SmartThings Hub

When encountering issues with your SmartThings Hub, SmartThings Wifi, Connect Home, or modem, you have the option to either reset or reboot the device. It's important to understand the distinction between the two: Factory Reset returns your hub to its original factory settings, erasing all data, including device connections. This is useful if you're starting afresh. Reboot simply restarts the device, refreshing its settings without deleting any data or configurations.

Note: Remember, the specific features, menu options, and settings available to you may vary based on the hub model and its software version. A factory reset will remove all settings and connections, necessitating a fresh setup.
