Set up ambient lighting for any occasion

Insert your Smart bulb into a lamp or other lighting fixture of your choice.

Next, navigate to and open the SmartThings app on your phone or tablet.

Tap the Devices tab, and then tap the Home icon to choose the location where you want to add your Smart bulb.

Tap Add (the plus icon), tap the By device type tab, and then tap Lighting.

From here, you can set up your Smart bulb by choosing the appropriate brand and following the on-screen instructions.

Once it has been added, select your Smart bulb, and tap the Power icon to turn it on.

Some Smart bulbs allow you to control the dimmer and color. Adjust the Dimmer slider or tap the gray circles to control the dimmer.

Finally, enjoy your illuminated home! Repeat this process for any other Smart bulbs you'd like to add.

After hanging your lights, connect them to a Smart plug and insert the plug into an outlet.

Next, navigate to and open the SmartThings app on your phone or tablet.

Tap the Devices tab, and then tap the Home icon to choose the location with your Smart plug.

Tap Add (the plus icon), tap the By device type tab, and then tap Outlet.

From here, you can set up your Smart plug by choosing the appropriate brand and following the on-screen instructions.

When everything is ready, select your Smart plug in the app to turn it on as well as any devices that are connected to it.

Repeat this process for any other Smart plugs you'd like to add.
