How to install your Bespoke AI Laundry Combo unit

Installation precautions

Before you begin installing your Bespoke AI Laundry Combo, it’s a good idea to review the following safety tips and precautions. For more information, please consult your user manual.

  • We recommend asking a friend to help when unpacking the unit and its contents.
  • All packaging materials should be removed before installation.
  • Do not lay the unit on the floor; always keep it in an upright position.
  • Do not tip over the unit or install it at a 45 degree angle. This is to prevent oil getting into the sealed system.
  • If the unit is accidentally tipped over on its side for an amount of time, we recommend waiting the same amount of time before connecting the unit to a power source, or you may risk damaging the unit. This is because the refrigerant lines will absorb the oil, and the unit will not heat.
  • The unit should be installed on a solid, flat floor and away from direct sunlight and heat sources.

Prepare your laundry room

You’ll want to prepare your laundry room, closet, utility room, or wherever your Bespoke AI Laundry Combo unit will be located, so it’s ready to go. Keep the following in mind when preparing your desired space:

  • Measure the space to make sure your unit fits and is not blocking something else, such as a door.
  • A firm, level surface without carpeting or slippery flooring is recommended. The unit should not be able to slide around on the floor. This may cause unbalanced load errors.
  • The ambient temperature should be higher than freezing (32 degrees).
  • Adequate space for ventilation, wiring, water supply hoses, and the drain hose is required, as well as space for the door to open freely.

2. Level the unit

Once the unit is in the desired position, you can level it.

  1. Place both hands on either side of the unit, and then try to gently rock it back and forth. If it rocks in any direction, turn the leveling feet clockwise to lower it or counterclockwise to raise it. You can use the supplied wrench to adjust the leveling feet.
  2. Once the unit is leveled, tighten the locking nut on each leg with a screwdriver until they are flush against the bottom of the unit. This will lock each leg at its current setting and maximize the length of time before it needs to be leveled again. When you're done, make sure all feet are making contact with the floor.

3. Connect the water supply hoses

New water supply hoses should be used when installing the unit. Old hoses could potentially lead to leaks.

  1. Attach the water hoses to the hot and cold water taps, and then tighten the hose fittings until they are tight. You can use pliers to tighten the fittings an additional two-thirds of a turn.
  2. Pull the hoses to make sure they are firmly connected.

  3. Next, place the ends of the hoses into a bucket, and then open the water taps for 10-15 seconds. This will remove impurities from the water supply. When you're finished, close the taps.
  4. Attach the hoses to the hot and cold water inlets on the rear of the unit. Make sure you are connecting the appropriate hoses to the correct inlet.
  5. Hand tighten the hose fittings until they are tight. You can use pliers to tighten the fittings an additional two-thirds of a turn.
  6. Open the hot and cold taps, and then check for leaks.

4. Position the drain hose

An illustration of the hot and cold water inlets next to the drain hose bending downwards.

Next up is the drain hose installation, which must be installed properly to prevent water leaks. There are two ways to install and position the drain hose.

  • In a standpipe, laundry tub, or utility sink: The standpipe, tub, or sink must be no shorter than 18 inches and no higher than 96 inches from the floor. To keep the drain hose's spout bent, use the supplied plastic hose guide. You can use zip ties to secure the drain hose without kinking the hose.
  • Over the edge of a wash basin: The drain hose must be placed at a height between 24 inches and 35 inches from the floor. To keep the drain hose's spout bent, use the supplied plastic hose guide. Secure the guide to the wall using a hook to ensure stable drainage.

When installing the drain hose, please keep the following in mind:

  • If using a standpipe, insert the drain hose at least 6 inches but no more than 8 inches into the standpipe. Make sure the connection between the drain hose and the standpipe is NOT airtight.
  • The drain hose can be installed up to 96 inches, but the draining capability can be reduced at this height. It can also cause odors because water may remain in the drain system.
  • If the drain hose is installed below 39 inches, water may drain into the unit’s cycles due to a siphoning effect. This causes the unit to display the 4C error code.

  2. Tap the Settings icon, then tap Washer, and then select Calibration. Tap Start Calibration to begin the process.
  3. Wait until the process is complete.
  4. Next, make sure the unit is turned on, and then select a cycle. If desired, you can adjust the cycle options as well.
  5. Tap Start to begin, and allow the unit to complete the cycle.

Note:
If there is any shaking or rocking during the test cycle, repeat the leveling steps above.
