How to charge the Galaxy Ring

When it comes to charging your Galaxy Ring, you have three options: USB-C charging, charging wirelessly, and charging with Wireless PowerShare. Each of these methods requires using the Galaxy Ring case that came with your ring. Each ring's case is specific to its ring. You can review our guide to learn more about each option.

How to charge the Galaxy Ring

Note
The Galaxy Ring should be fully charged before using it for the first time. If the battery is completely drained, it may need to be charged for at least ten minutes before it can be used. No matter which charging method you use, you must charge the Galaxy Ring in the case that came with it.

USB-C charging with the charging case

The Galaxy Ring comes with its own charging case, which includes a USB-C cable. The case can be charged by itself in order to charge the ring later, or you can charge the ring and the case together.

  1. Connect one end of the USB cable to its charger, and then plug the charger into an outlet.
  2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to the charging case, and then open the charging case.
  3. Place the ring inside the case, making sure it is aligned with the marker on the case’s ring holder.
  4. Then, close the charging case and allow the ring to charge.
Note: When the Galaxy Ring is inside the case, it will charge first. Once it is fully charged, the case will begin to charge.

  2. Close the charging case, and then place the case in the center of the wireless charger.
  3. Allow the ring to charge.
Note: When the Galaxy Ring is inside the case, it will charge first. Once it is fully charged, the case will begin to charge.

Battery life

Note
Actual battery life, charging time, and usage time may vary depending on the Ring’s size, the network environment, personal usage patterns, amount of calls and messages, charging frequency, and other factors. Charge time varies with settings, usage patterns, and environmental factors; actual results may vary.

The battery life of the Ring will last for up to 7 days of consecutive use on a full charge. When you are not using the Ring, it is recommended to store it in the charging case. You can fully charge the Ring in about 90 minutes using the charging case. However, when charging for the first time or when the battery is completely drained, it may take at least ten minutes for the Ring to begin working.

The battery power may also depend on the size of the Ring:

  • 17mAh for sizes 5, 6, and 7 (battery life up to 6 days on a single charge).
  • 18.5mAh for sizes 8, 9, 10, and 11 (battery life up to 6 days on a single charge).
  • 22.5mAh for sizes 12 and 13 (battery life up to 7 days on a single charge).

Wearing the Ring with a Galaxy watch will maximize its shared health features and extend the Ring’s battery life by up to 30 percent. When wearing them together, the watch will function as the primary device, and some of the Ring’s features will automatically turn off to save power (this includes heart rate and sleep measurements). If the watch runs out of battery, health tracking will resume on the Ring.
