How to charge the Galaxy Ring
How to charge the Galaxy Ring
USB-C charging with the charging case
The Galaxy Ring comes with its own charging case, which includes a USB-C cable. The case can be charged by itself in order to charge the ring later, or you can charge the ring and the case together.
- Connect one end of the USB cable to its charger, and then plug the charger into an outlet.
- Connect the other end of the USB cable to the charging case, and then open the charging case.
- Place the ring inside the case, making sure it is aligned with the marker on the case’s ring holder.
- Then, close the charging case and allow the ring to charge.
Note: When the Galaxy Ring is inside the case, it will charge first. Once it is fully charged, the case will begin to charge.
Wireless charging
You can also use a wireless charger to charge the Galaxy Ring and case. However, Samsung brand wireless chargers are recommended.
- Open the charging case, and then place the ring inside the case. Make sure the ring aligns with the marker on the case’s ring holder.
- Close the charging case, and then place the case in the center of the wireless charger.
- Allow the ring to charge.
Note: When the Galaxy Ring is inside the case, it will charge first. Once it is fully charged, the case will begin to charge.
Charge the Galaxy Ring with the case
The Galaxy Ring case has its own battery, and that can be used to charge the ring. So, if you've already charged the case, then it's ready to charge your ring! Simply place the Galaxy Ring inside the case, and it will charge it. No additional power source necessary.
Note: A fully charged case can charge a Galaxy Ring's battery to 100 percent up to 1.6 times.
Wireless PowerShare
Lastly, the Galaxy Ring can be charged using Wireless PowerShare technology. Once the Galaxy Ring is inside the charging case, you can place the case on the back of a compatible Galaxy device, such as a phone or tablet.
Check the battery level
You can check the Galaxy Ring’s battery level in the Galaxy Wearable app on your connected phone. The remaining battery percentage will be displayed at the top of the screen.
The charging case’s indicator light will also let you know how much battery is left. If all the lights are flashing, then the ring is fully charged.
Battery life
The battery life of the Ring will last for up to 7 days of consecutive use on a full charge. When you are not using the Ring, it is recommended to store it in the charging case. You can fully charge the Ring in about 90 minutes using the charging case. However, when charging for the first time or when the battery is completely drained, it may take at least ten minutes for the Ring to begin working.
The battery power may also depend on the size of the Ring:
- 17mAh for sizes 5, 6, and 7 (battery life up to 6 days on a single charge).
- 18.5mAh for sizes 8, 9, 10, and 11 (battery life up to 6 days on a single charge).
- 22.5mAh for sizes 12 and 13 (battery life up to 7 days on a single charge).
Wearing the Ring with a Galaxy watch will maximize its shared health features and extend the Ring’s battery life by up to 30 percent. When wearing them together, the watch will function as the primary device, and some of the Ring’s features will automatically turn off to save power (this includes heart rate and sleep measurements). If the watch runs out of battery, health tracking will resume on the Ring.
