No sound from Bluetooth or wired headset connected to Samsung PC

If you can't hear any audio from your paired Bluetooth or USB headphones, you'll need to make sure all the audio related settings are correct. Make sure any wireless devices have a charged battery.

No sound from Bluetooth or wired headset connected to Samsung PC

1

Connect your headset.

If you’re using a USB headset, make sure it is plugged in. For a Bluetooth headset, make sure Bluetooth is turned on for both the PC and the headset and make sure that they have been paired.
2

Select the headset as the sound output device.

To set the headset as the output device, perform the following steps:

  • On Windows 10, left-click the Sound icon in the taskbar, and then select the name of the headset to ensure it is connected.

  • On Windows 11, right-click the Sound icon in the taskbar, select Sound settings, and then select Choose where to play sound to confirm the headset is connected.
3

If your headset is not listed as an output device, make sure it is not disabled.

By default, the only devices listed are ones that are enabled. If your headset isn't listed, it's possible it is hidden because it's disabled, which could also explain why it's not working. To check if your headset is listed as disabled, perform the following steps:

  • On Windows 10, right-click the Sound icon in the taskbar, select Open Sound settings, and then select Manage sound devices. If the headset is listed in the disabled section, select it and select Enable.
  • On Windows 11, right-click the Sound icon in the taskbar, select Sound settings, and then select All sound devices. If the headset is listed in the disabled section, select it and select Enable.

If you can select the headset but still don’t hear anything, increase the volume.

First, increase the sound using the volume controls on the headset itself.

If you still don't hear anything, left-click the Sound icon in the taskbar, and then use the slider to adjust the volume. On Windows 11, you will need to adjust the Volume slider in Sound settings. Make sure to select a volume above 0, which is muted.

5

Uninstall the current audio drivers, restart the PC, and then check for drivers.

Uninstall any audio or Bluetooth drivers that are currently in use, and then reboot the PC.

After Windows reboots, look for drivers from Windows Update, Samsung Update, and the headset manufacturer.

6

Run the audio troubleshooter.

If the device is showing in the list but still does not work correctly, perform the following steps:

  • On Windows 10, right-click the Sound icon in the taskbar, select Open Sound Settings, and then select Troubleshoot. Follow the on-screen directions.
  • On Windows 11, right-click the Sound icon in the taskbar, select Sound settings, and then select Output devices next to Troubleshoot common sound problems. Follow the on-screen directions.
